In this edition of the Symetra Community Series, some of the world’s greatest leaders – from business, government and the nonprofit sector – discuss partnerships that are needed to overcome one of the world’s most difficult challenges: poverty.
In 2003, a group of civic minded people formed the Initiative for Global Development (IGD) (www.igdleaders.org) in Seattle, Washington. The founding belief is that global poverty is at the root of many of the world’s greatest challenges. Dramatically reducing it is one of the most effective steps we can take in creating a better future. Addressing the inequities of people living in poverty is a critical factor in ensuring the future prosperity and security of us all.
